Our client’s logistics team needed help transporting their innovative molecule products to farmers across Brazil. Before coming to Overhaul, the customer was looking for ways to reduce their operating costs while improving logistics performance and managing the severe theft risk levels.
Agribusiness is very important for the country, representing about 24% of the national GDP. Shipments from this industry are the target of various types of crime, such as theft, tampering, and smuggling. It is important to have an idea of how cargo theft has affected agribusiness year after year. It is possible to observe a constant increase of 1% per year, showing a linear trend in the growth of cargo theft.
Overhaul provides the customer with a differentiated, layered transportation risk management ecosystem to tackle both logistics risk management and improve their overall logistics performance. Our goal is to offer a layered solution unique to the customer’s use case that removes noise in their logistics program for both the customer and Overhaul’s Watch Officers.
As part of the customer’s onboarding, we provided a route and risk zone analysis to define both the route and the configuration of the technology and devices to be used specific to the customer’s operations and risk level. For every shipment, our Risk Management Officers (RMOs) complete a checklist of the vehicle and all selected tracking devices, sensors, and safety devices.
After becoming an Overhaul customer, the logistics team not only saved thousands of dollars on their program but saw thefts decrease with the help of Overhaul’s preventative solutions. Together, we have achieved zero thefts since onboarding in September 2021.
