Turning real-time anomaly detection into a full recovery in Mexico
Giving a global food & CPG manufacturer full recovery of two hijacked units in transit
Two of the customer's transport units stopped simultaneously on the San Luis Potosí–Matehuala highway in Mexico, a stretch known for cargo theft. Overhaul flagged this as an immediate warning sign and moved to stop what appeared to be a hijacking in progress. The loads were food and consumer goods, a high-value target, which called for immediate verification and response.
Overhaul's Monitoring and Security Operations Center (MSOC) detected the anomaly and, within three minutes of the customer's alert, activated its emergency protocol, coordinating real-time alerts and law enforcement connections across the customer, the carrier, Mexico's National Alliance for the Protection of Cargo Transport (ANERPV), 911, the National Guard, and the Civil Guard of San Luis Potosí. MSOC centralized location data, unit and trailer identification, and visual evidence to drive a fast, unified search.
Continuous tracking led to recovery of the first tractor and its trailer, followed by the second trailer once its seal was validated and it was secured by the National Guard. Within about six hours of the initial report, Overhaul confirmed full recovery of both units and their cargo, supporting their handover to Mexico's Attorney General's Office in Matehuala and keeping ANERPV informed throughout.
Early protocol activation, real-time multichannel coordination, and direct collaboration with Mexican authorities delivered full recovery of the customer's units and cargo, protecting operational continuity and demonstrating Overhaul's ability to resolve critical in-transit incidents end to end. The customer was extremely satisfied with the level of support provided throughout the process.
